Course Content:
This
course provides an overview of health and social care pathways. In
addition it aims to help improve writing skills, care skills- i.e.
communication, respecting equality, diversity and rights, group work and
team work, all essential to equip an individual to work in this
challenging but fulfilling area.

Preparing and acquiring the skills required to give
quality care

Communicating with service users in care settings

Practical caring

Hygiene and safety in care settings

Creative activities as a form of therapy with
individuals in care settings

Duration:
1 year
Entry Requirements:
Four Ds at GCSE
including English, Science and Social Care related subjects or Merit at
Level 1 Health and Social Care.
Assessment:
Through written assignments, presentations or role plays.
However, two of these assignments will be set and marked by the awarding
body. To a large extent, they involve relating theory to practice and will
be completed over a period of time. This means that they are not done
under exam conditions.
